Review

“And far away, across the snow-covered mountains, on a barren plain before the ruins of a once-great city, a flower began to bloom”

Sarah J Maas, Kingdom of Ash

I cannot believe this series is over. Sob. Like, I am in such grief over this series ending. It may not have been my favorite in the beginning, but this series is a true journey and adventure that Queen Sarah has taken us on and I’m so grateful. Will always recommend this series to anyone who loves fantasy books and isn’t intimidated by chunky books and long series.

Kingdom of Ash gave me just about everything I was looking for, and more. I laughed, I cried, I sobbed, and I soared along with the characters. Truly this book tore every piece of my heart out and I loved it. It is a seriously long book so it will take some time to get through. Though I tried to drag it out and only read small chunks at a time, one Sunday I just read 700 pages to finish it and that was basically my whole entire day. I was crying so much my fiance was legitimately worried about me.

The twists, the turns, the battle scenes, the gods… the easter egg from another series!! Ugh my heart. Just read it, that’s about all I can say!

Happy reading, folks!

  1. I loved this series and also found Kingdom of Ash nicely tied up everything. I pretty much slept for only a few hours a day and did a marathon of all the books. I emerged from my cave with dark eyes to only return to it and read some of my favorite parts of Kingdom of Ash because it was hard to exist in a world where I had finished reading the entire series. LOL. I feel your pain!
